Better Days
Hay Daizee Loves!
I just wanted to follow-up with some “tips” for what I believed helped me get to the other side with better days. Keep reading.
Drown in God’s presence
It is all about your heart. In our darkest moments, our hearts hurt and feel empty. I had taken my heart away from God and given it to those who abused it. I let the heartbreaking moments (whether a result of my disobedience or just LIFE) cripple it. So, for me, I had to make sure my heart could be penetrated by its owner, God. In intense moments of praise and worship when I could truly feel God’s presence (whether at church, home, work, or even in the car, whatever) and while reading His word… His promises… and marinating on them… that is when healing was taking place for me. In my heart and mind. I needed to be with God and allow Him to fix what was broken and guide me back into His will for my life. We end up being completely out of His will for our lives and wonder why we are so damaged, lost, and confused.
2. Focus on your dreams and goals
Remember, your dreams were given to you by God. We are all here for a reason. Our lives serve a PURPOSE. So, when we are outside of His will and not doing anything related to our God-given purpose, it is too easy to feel empty inside. It is too easy to feel unfulfilled in our lives. Once you really tap in to who you are and who He has called you to be and what He has called you to do… FOCUS ON THOSE THINGS. Pretty Daizee has brought me so much happiness. It saved me! It made me feel alive again. I am not saying go start a blog (unless that is your thing), but I am saying start taking steps in the direction of a purpose filled life. Start doing things according to the purpose in which you were called. Once, you are focusing on those type of things, you will have less time to sit around and think about past trouble, pain, and negativity.
3. Stay busy
Stay busy doing good things, like working towards your dreams! Stay busy being intentional about your growth and healing. Stay busy doing things that are conducive for growing as an individual. Things that will set you up for a better life and future. Things that will pay off so much in the end. When you are busy bettering yourself, you don’t have time to entertain anything or anyone that will hold you back from doing just that. Not all busy is productive busy. You can be busy setting yourself back in life. You can be busy doing absolutely nothing meaningful and staying in the same exact spot. Or you can be busy moving forward in your life!
4. Remove yourself from toxic and meaningless relationships
I had to cut the crap with a lot of people. People who I knew I had no business dealing with. People who just made me feel off or negative. People who couldn’t see the real me. People who didn’t love me for me. People who were not going where I wanted to go. People who had no substance. People who DID NOT KNOW BETTER. People who served absolutely no purpose in my life. People who hindered my growth and healing.
I have only been spending time with my family and best friend. I have only been communicating on a daily basis with my family and best friend. They are the only people I talk to about how I feel and what is going on with me because they are the ones who know me best and truly want what’s best for me. I halfway respond to the people who aren’t blocked. Yikes. Yes, blocked. Because again, cut the crap. Once I started moving like that, I met a couple of genuine people who could see the real MEGAN and have only brought positive energy into my life.
Fun Fact: I have had Deja Vu after meeting both individuals so I know that it is real. We were supposed to cross paths and exchange energy. I trust my spirit like that.
5. Be Thankful and Focus on the Positive
Lastly, y’ all just be thankful and focus on the positive. I am really dramatic and tend to focus on the negative. Mindset is everything. Focusing on the GOOD in your life and all of your BLESSINGS is a major KEY. We give power to whatever we focus on. When I started reminding myself of how blessed I was, I FELT blessed. When I was focusing on all of the negative, everything I felt and thought was NEGATIVE. When I started thanking God for being God and for being faithful, it was easier to trust Him and trust that He was STILL with me and still leading me to a beautiful life that is more than I can imagine.
And just always remember that things could be totally worse, so just thank God that it isn’t.
One of my favorite songs lately is Better Days by Le’Andria Johnson off of the Greenleaf Soundtrack. Better Days are coming. I promise they are. You just have to believe that they are on the way. Time to get real intentional about getting to the other side where they are at!
I love y ‘all.
Thanks for reading.
Love ALWAYS,
Megan
