WHY be healthy & fit?
Hay Daizee Loves!
I have recently found that the desire to look good was not enough to help me stick to a diet or workout plan. However, I found a few things that do make me say NO to the Krispy Kreme and YES to a 5am run.
1. I want to be able to do everything God has called me to do.
I realize that I cannot do anything if I am always sick. Whether it is singing in the choir stand on Sunday or raising children. Speaking of children...
2. I want to be healthy for my future kiddos.
I want to be able to give them proper nourishment while I am carrying them. I want to be in shape so that I am able to chase after them and play with them! I want to have healthy habits because that is what they will see and that is what they will do. I do not want to miss important moments because I have a migraine or tummy troubles or the flu or something and I am stuck at home. I want to be on this earth as long as I possibly can for them!
3. I want to show God I have self-discipline.
Self-control is a fruit of the Spirit. Heather Lindsey says, "If a doughnut has that much control over you, imagine how much the devil has". I do not want God not trusting me with big things because I have zero control over my body. Yes, my flesh has desires but I keep it in check because I am in control. Self-discipline is a major key.
4. I want to show God I understand my body is the dwelling place of His Holy Spirit.
Would you want to stay somewhere toxic and polluted with junk? I wouldn’t! I would want to stay in a healthy environment where everything flows and functions properly… and smells good! LOL
It is a combination of these things that keep me focused and motivated to create and implement new, healthy habits. You also have to understand that most things are preventable. Therefore, DO NOT make things harder for yourself. It really is simple. They say people who eat right and workout typically have a higher amount of love for themselves. I believe it. You have one body! Figure out what motivates you to love it and take care of it!
Love ALWAYS, Megan
