MORE WATER

Hay Daizee Loves!

I was doing a little research and it says that our adult bodies are made up of 55% (women) to 60% (men) of water. It makes sense. 71% of the Earth’s surface is water. I would definitely argue that God wants us drinking water. Drinking an adequate amount of water each day comes with many health benefits. I have listed below some of the most important benefits to me. Knowing these things makes it easier for me to choose water and get in my daily amount.

1. I’m always trying to lose 5 pounds

DO NOT DRINK YOUR CALORIES! Water is zero calories. I do not think we stop to think about how many calories we are drinking (especially liquor). Like no… I rather eat a brownie… honestly. Furthermore, adequate water consumption helps to speed up your metabolism. I hate, HATE cold water but I will force myself to drink it in the morning. WHY COLD? Because then you force your body to use more energy to heat it up to body temperature. Drinking enough water will increase your body’s ability to burn fat… helping your efforts in losing weight. Additionally, drinking more water, especially before meals, allows you to feel fuller so you will eat LESS. I have found that A LOT of the time I think I am hungry, when really my body just wants water. Not only that, but it keeps my tummy flat so I appear smaller. LOL bye bye bloat.

Added Bonus: When I am drinking enough water, I am constantly walking back and forth to the restroom. Added steps throughout the day = more calories burned!

2. Bye Bye Toxins

Think about your organs…your kidneys, heart and stuff. I watched my grandmother go through dialysis and promised myself I would take care of my kidneys. Do not make your organs work harder because you do not want to drink enough water and help them flush bad stuff out of your body. I read that water consumption helps with kidney stones and UTIs. I think that is self-explanatory. I have never struggled with either and do not want to so I will keep drinking water.

SIDE NOTE: I hate going in the bathroom and smelling some FOUL urine. That is just ridiculous (especially for women). Honestly... it should NOT have an odor and be super yellow. I SHOULD NOT KNOW you are not drinking enough water. If it looks and smells concentrated… you are stressing your kidneys boo! Do better!  *** I will say that when I was younger, if my pee was “too strong” my mom only let me drink water and milk until it was relatively clear again.

SIDE SIDE NOTE: It will also help with feminine things like odor (HYDRATION IS SO IMPORTANT) and yeast infections… “ALLADAT”. Just flush it all out ladies!

3. “OMG, your skin is so pretty!”

Toxins do not even get a chance to come out as acne or anything when you are drinking enough water. It also makes your skin less vulnerable to inflammation. Now, I have never struggled with acne but I do have eczema and these super random skin issues. I do not experience the symptoms of any of them and my skin is EXTRA flawless when I am drinking a ton of water. It glows and looks dewy all on its own. So, if you are struggling with acne, dull, and dry skin, I highly recommend cutting out all beverages EXCEPT WATER. Guzzle it up and just see what a difference it will make for your skin. You have to moisturize from the INSIDE OUT so get to hydrating for flawless skin! *** AND please bathe regularly IN WATER… to wash away germs and oil. I feel like I needed to add that. Nothing dirty will ever look pretty (unless we are talking about a dry twist out on dirty hair. One word. PERFECTION).

4. Hair & Nails

Another INSIDE & OUT benefit. Water supports vitamin consumption therefore, assisting with hair and nail growth. All I know is, they both grow at a faster rate when I am consuming a lot of water. If I see a picture of someone with nice long hair, I immediately grab my water. It is like I remember I need it to flourish. Hahaha But again, moisture and hydration need to take place from within and then on the outside.

5. Keeps things flowing

REGULARITY is a major key. Now, you all should know how important it is to have regular bowel movements. If you are NOT drinking enough water, you are making your colon take fluid out of your stool to maintain hydration *gags*. That just sounds gross… and toxic. I am over here like stool water?? *gags again* HAHAHA! But seriously, do not do that to your colon. Life is so much better when things are flowing properly and regularly and you are not straining on the toilet. I wish my parents had me drinking MORE water when I was younger because I always had tummy trouble... like ALWAYS. However, I have found that drinking enough water keeps things moving. No more constipation. Hello hydration and regularity.

6. Immunity Booster

Studies have found that people who drink enough water are not sick as often. I know that I do not get sick when I am drinking ENOUGH water. Because adequate water consumption helps you to expel all of the bad stuff out of your system, your system can function properly. Drinking more water helps prevent toxins from building up, which negatively affect your immune system. I have noticed that I hardly show symptoms of any of my ailments when I am drinking A LOT of water. You do not want to make things harder for your immune system so drink plenty of water to help it do its job, especially when you feel yourself getting sick. However, I am all about prevention these days so I do not even want to feel myself get sick. I am chugging water after that first cough or sneeze.

7. What headache?

Speaking of not feeling good, I always had headaches growing up too and I think it was mainly because I was CHRONICALLY DEHYDRATED. I have found now that I do not get headaches when I am drinking enough water. Not only that, but when I feel one coming on, I drink a ton of water and it works as a pain reliever. Water is super clutch when I am going through my “natural everything” phases. It even helps with sinus headaches because enough water thins out the mucus that is creating sinus pressure.

8. Regulates body temp

This is a big one for me. I think I have some type of minor hormonal imbalance or something because I swear I be having hot flashes. So, when I get really hot out of nowhere (internally), I usually drink a ton of water really fast and my body temperature immediately cools back down.  When I realized how noticeably cooler I was after drinking water, the game changed!

9. Your Brain and Mood

I read that our brains are like 90% water. That alone should scare you into drinking enough water. We all need our brains to be healthy and functioning at optimal levels. An article I read on healthline says that, “mild dehydration can impair energy levels and mood, and lead to major reductions in memory and brain performance.” Let me point out that they said MILD dehydration. A LOT of people are walking around CHRONICALLY dehydrated and do not even know it! Help your brain by drinking more water.

Additionally, I do not know all of the science behind it but I know I feel much more alert and can concentrate better when I am drinking water. My eyes feel more open and lubricated. I know it sounds a little weird but seriously, it allows for some serious focus. I am also way less cranky and depressed. I just feel good. I think partially because I know I am doing something good for myself. I can just feel everything functioning properly, and that makes me happy. I know that drinking my water is making me look and feel healthier and being healthy is a good feeling.

10. It’s FREE

Water is so inexpensive. We spend tons of money on liquor, coffee, soda, juice and teas when water is the source of life and practically free. My parents keep water at the house so I never have to worry about it at home. You can buy a whole gallon for $1 and that is over a day’s worth of water for me. Or you can buy a filtered pitcher and get the tap water from the kitchen sink FOR FREE.  At restaurants, it AIN’T A THING to order water with lemon because it is saving you or bae a couple of dollars on the bill. It is free and offers tons of health benefits?! That is a NO BRAINER.

Bottom line: water is just so miraculous. I love it! The more I drink, the more my body craves it and shows me it needs it. I just feel like a hydrated boss when I reach my daily goal. A laser focused, toxic releasing, sickness preventing, less moody, money saving BOSS.

There are so many amazing benefits behind adequate water consumption and I recommend you all look them up for yourselves. Seriously, GAME CHANGER. I thank God for making it so abundant for us. He knows what He is doing! So use it! Drink up!

Love ALWAYS,

Megan
