Guidelines for Pretty Daizee Detox & Fast: For Your Body, Soul, & the Dreamer Within

Hay Daizee Loves!

I am so happy you have decided to do the 21-day fast. This is essentially the Daniel Fast. I highly recommend you research the physical and spiritual benefits of fast in the coming days. My favorite article on the Daniel Fast was written by Dr. Axe. Based on my experience and research, I have created some guideline to follow during the 21 days and in a separate post, explained why you should or should not do certain things during the fast.

Dates: January 15, 2018 – February 5, 2018 (21 Days)

The Sunday before (14 Jan), we will be kicking off the 21 days with a dandelion root detox. Luckily, most of us are off Monday. I would so dislike being at work and the tea start working. LOL We will be using YOGI dandelion tea. You should be able to find it at Walmart.  I’m only seeping one bag after church.

WARNING:  I have to warn you all that if you cut something out of your diet for 21 days, your body can develop an intolerance. If and when you begin to consume it again, it can make you extremely sick. I am currently still having a hard time digesting bread, meat and dairy. I will either cut them out for good this time or eat them in low moderation. What you cut out will need to be at your own discretion. Whatever you decide, you can totally do it!

Rule #1: Don’t tell anyone you are fasting unless absolutely necessary. (Immediate family, boyfriend/girlfriend… ) However, I didn’t tell my coworkers. They didn’t need to know. If someone asks you why you can’t eat something or attend something, don’t say because you are fasting. You just can’t eat it and you just can’t go. That’s going to have to be a good enough answer. In the words of Heather Lindsey, “I’m working on something”.

TIP: When offered something to eat or to hang, simply say “No, thank you”. The words “I can’t” will more than likely lead to “WHY”.

KEY BIBLE VERSES:

Daniel 1:12

Daniel 10: 2-3

I love the book of Daniel. I highly recommend reading it before the fast begins.

BEVERAGES:

Water

Herbal Tea

·         My favorite brand is YOGI. I will be drinking a cup of Blueberry Slim Life each day at 10am and probably chamomile (TAZO) or something before bed. Zen (TAZO) is a very calming and relaxing tea as well. I prefer to drink that at work. There are tons to choose from. Just make sure it’s herbal. Blueberry slim life also supports a dietary program so it’s perfect for the 21 days if you want to really lose some weight.

FOOD:

Vegetables (the majority of the diet)

·         Fresh and cooked

·         Canned really doesn’t count. I know but just think about Daniel nem. They were eating raw veggies.

Fruit (in moderation and preferably in the morning)

·         Fresh, cooked, and frozen

·         We didn’t do dried fruits because they are processed with other things.

Whole grains

·         Oats (not prepackaged & microwavable y ‘all… that’s super processed)

·         Brown Rice

·         Quinoa

Legumes & Beans

·         Can be canned as long as there is NO SALT added

Nuts & Seeds

·         Raw. NO SALT y ‘all!

Side note: you can still take your vitamins and supplements.

ABSOLUTELY NO:

Social Media

·         DISTRACTION. You’ll be okay without it for 21 days.

Netflix/TV

·         You could be reading the bible, getting ahead on studying or homework, planning how you’re going to reach your 2018 goals.

Meaningless Texting & Phone Calls

·         You need to focus. If the conversation isn’t about God or with others doing the fast… you don’t need to be having it.

No hanging out/chilling

·         You’re working on something. They’ll understand (I hope… lol)

Secular Music

·         Suggestions: Mali Music. Briana Babineaux. Praise & Worship Pandora Stations. Christian Rappers (Lecrae & Trip Lee are my favorite!)

YouTube

·         You can watch sermons, and listen to messages from other Christians but random stuff… no. Hair and makeup tutorials… no. Pranks… no. But you can also listen to motivational speakers and Christian life coaches #BloomUp

The goal is to read, listen to, watch, and have conversations that are spiritually edifying. Things that will help create positive and healthy thoughts to improve your mood and mindset. Keep your focus on Jesus and not things of this world.

MUST DO:

1.       2 daily devotionals

2.       At least ONE 21-day reading plan on the bible app

3.       3 journal entries

·         One in the morning, after lunch, and before bed

4.       CONSTANT PRAYER

5.       STUDY THE BIBLE

THINGS YOU WILL NEED:

1. Food that you are allowed to eat

·         This is designed to take the amount of time & energy you put into food away. In a sense you will be meal prepping. Especially if you have work and school. Go ahead and plan now what and when you will eat. Get it all together and ready to go.

2. A journal/notebook

3. A Bible/The Holy Bible App

·         I use my bible to study and the app for devotionals and the reading plan

Feel free to email me (pdaizee@gmail.com) or DM me on social media for further explanation on the guidelines! I am so happy you have decided to do this!

Love ALWAYS,

Megan
