Boss Babe Balance
Hay Daizee Loves!
I know I promised more consistency this year, and I promise the intent is there but most of the time it just feels like the time IS NOT.
I recorded a snapchat the other night after working overtime saying how exhausted I was and how I was in need of some BOSS BABE BALANCE. Y ’all know that:
1. I am a self-proclaimed boss babe. I seriously just carry that energy. Thank you, God.
2. I love a good alliteration (nerd alert).
Therefore, boss babe balance is born. The concept of this type of balance has been plaguing my mind since the New Year because looking at my schedule and the list of things I am currently trying to accomplish outside of work and the things I am trying to plan for the future… seriously like… HOW do I balance all of these things?
So just for fun and to dramatize the post… here is a list of things that I am currently juggling.
1. Exceling at work… like establishing a legitimate professional career. And with that comes a lot all by itself, because I am getting to a point to where when opportunities present themselves for growth and promotion… I will be PREPARED.
a. Getting to work on time
b. Looking the part
c. Taking advantage of learning opportunities
d. Travel and overtime
e. Getting my accomplishments/resume together
2. Dreams/Goals/Calling/Purpose
If you follow me essentially on anything, you know that I blog, and just recently started a YouTube channel with my sister in 2019. That’s literally just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to all of things I know God has placed in me to accomplish and bring forth during my time on this earth. So, between trying to create time to write (failing epically) and vlog AND plan for the next big steps…. on top of all of that work stuff above… like seriously….where is the time???
3. Health/Fitness/Beauty (natural)
This one is self-explanatory. With the things I am doing, working on and growing towards… health is a priority. I don’t have time to get sick with this schedule. I need to be up and kicking to get this stuff up off of the ground.
I also need to LOOK GOOD for the things I am getting into. I am currently trying to drop 20-30lbs, grow my hair, and get my skin together. Like just trying to deep condition on a regular basis is a struggle LOL.
But on top of doing these things for myself, I truly want to inspire others to do the same. Which is why I’m back posting workouts and hair related things on social media.
4. Me Time/Family Time
Truthfully, I rarely get me time, because I am always working on something or planning something. But I feel like my solo 5am workout time counts as me time and quiet time with Jesus. I also always squeeze in time with my family on the weekends and try to be as productive as possible even when I’m with them… which actually benefits the YouTube channel.
5. Fun and Adventure
I’m realizing that I am going to have to get really intentional about setting aside some time to have fun, laugh, and make new memories. Not only are these the moments that I am most inspired by, but they are needed! God didn’t place us here NOT to enjoy life and the beauty off all of His creations. I’m definitely trying to hang out more this year with my cousins and the friends I have been blessed with. And also travel to new places (via work and personal life) for new experiences. I would say 2020 is already off to a good start.
6. Spiritual Well-Being
The most important aspect to all of this and our lives entirely is our spiritual health. The health of everything else (mental, emotional, physical, etc.) literally flows from the condition of our hearts. In 2020, I pray that my spirit man develops, strengthens, and grows closer to the Lord. I have been intentional about journaling, my reading plans, listening to sermons and Christian influencers, etc. I have found I really enjoy listening to Grace for Purpose during my workouts on YouTube AND car rides and even sitting at my desk at work are more enjoyable when I have something edifying playing in the background.
I have also committed myself to Sunday school and Children’s Church this year. I have been studying with my parents every Saturday night so far this year (BOOM… family time) and we have decided we wanted to make Children Church super special and memorable for our babies this year. Obviously pouring into them, requires that I allow the Lord to pour into me.
So, Young Meg… how do you balance all of this?
Well, for one… I plan like a maniac. LOL but I took a tip from all of my favorite pastors and Christian influencers… allow the Lord to plan your day. What is it that you want me to do TODAY, Lord? Show me the order to get things done today and throughout the week. You gave me these desires, responsibilities and priorities, and I trust you with them.
I am so focused on not taking on more than what God wants me to right now in this season and not moving prematurely, or out of His timing.
I try my best to stick to a schedule (i.e. workout times, work schedule, posting schedule, nighttime routine, Sunday routines, etc.), and do what I canto make the next day easier. So, if you are looking for some balance like me and trying to ensure you have a good handle on all that’s your plate… truly keep God first and center of it all. Trust Him with it all, and allow Him to set your priorities and dictate what gets your energy each day. Prioritize spending that time with Him to receive His guidance and everything else you desperately need from Him. Lastly, trust Him to give you His strength and His grace to do all that He has called you to do, and BLOOM in every place He has planted you.
Isaiah 40: 28-31
Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and His understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Thank you all so much for reading.
Love ALWAYS,
Megan
