New Beginnings
Hay Daizee Loves!
Just wanted to give you all an update with my life. Keep reading.
The latest and greatest move in my life is a literal move. LOL I am no longer living in my parents’ house. I have officially moved out of the nest and into an apartment. WHAAATTT. Lol so this was NEVER the plan. The agreement was always 25 or married. Considering I am neither, I was not really happy about having to move out AT ALL. Because I really thought I would go from living with my parents to living with my husband in a HOUSE but that’s obviously not in God’s plan for my life right now. I much rather be in a house than giving all of this money over into the black hole I now know as rent. However, it really was time for me to be on my own. This is the year of growth, independence, maturity, investments, and being out of my comfort zone. So what better way to achieve all 5 of those things than to sign a 12 month lease? My budgeting game is at a new level and investing is now a SUPER MUST. My parents gave me a much needed push and we all agree it is time for me to spread my little wings and fly on my own. No matter how much I really rather not. HELLO ADULTING. Am I happy that rent, utilities and internet/cable are now my responsibility? DEFINITELY NOT. But it does feel good knowing that I am now 100% financially independent from my parents.
Decorating and getting all of the things I need has been extremely stressful. I had an entire anxiety attack in Target 2 weekends ago trying to choose bathroom towels. A full-blown anxiety attack. But now that everything is coming together (thanks mom), it really is becoming a fun experience making my space my own and ensuring it has the right vibe and energy to maintain my peace and inspire growth.
So that’s that :)
Other than the move, I am still working towards a master’s degree. I am in summer school, and I just registered for the fall semester. I am only 3 classes away from my degree. That’s CRAZY! If you are considering furthering your education, DO IT! Graduate school has been one of the best investments I could have made in myself. I am learning sooo much, meeting some great people, and it’s helping me with work TREMENDOUSLY.
Speaking of work, it’s GREAT. This 2nd rotation has truly been a blessing. And it feels good knowing that my team from my 1st rotation (and when I interned during college) can’t wait to have me back. I went to an event last week and was just sitting there like wow… I am 24 and my career is about to take off. It’s just getting started no doubt, but I have already been blessed with so many opportunities. I just pray I take full advantage of all that’s out here for me with the government. That paired with this degree… there are no limits for me.
Pretty Daizee is still my baby, and once I get settled into my new life/routine, I have so much more to come. I promise! I wish I could dedicate all of my time to Pretty Daizee but I am an engineer by training and I have to eat. LOL
I am thankful and very excited about all that is happening in my life. I am so incredibly blessed! So blessed. I think my parents did a great job with me. LOL I guess the next 12 months will prove if that’s true or not. I love my people. Whether family or friends, you know who you are. Thank you for being so supportive and by my side. Especially the last 6 weeks, because I was high key losing my mind leading up to my move.
As always, a big thank you to my Daizee Loves for reading! I love to write and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. So, thank you for supporting my dream. I love you all!
Love ALWAYS,
Megan
